Usage Agreement

1. Introduction and Acceptance

RemotePC by Breadworks is an independent, non-commercial project. It's developed and made available by an individual developer operating under the name "Breadworks" (based in Athens, Greece) — not a registered company or other formal legal entity. These Terms are a direct agreement between you and that developer, personally.

RemotePC is provided entirely free of charge: no purchases, subscriptions, license fees, ads, or other monetization of any kind.

These Terms govern your access to and use of:

• The RemotePC by Breadworks Android App
• The RemotePC Windows Listener software
• The website at remotepc.tech

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using any part of RemotePC, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't download, install, or use RemotePC.

If you're using RemotePC on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to it.

2. Definitions

Software

The Android App, the Windows Listener, related documentation and updates, and the Website.

Local Network / LAN

A private network not exposed to the public internet by default.

You / User

The person or entity using the Software.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18, or the age of legal majority where you live, to accept these Terms yourself. If you're using RemotePC on behalf of, or in the presence of, a minor, you confirm you're their parent or legal guardian, or otherwise legally authorized, and you accept these Terms on their behalf.

RemotePC isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant age under your local law). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us using the details in Section 22.

4. License & Permitted Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use RemotePC on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use.

Except where applicable law gives you a right despite this restriction (for example, interoperability rights under the EU Software Directive 2009/24/EC or an equivalent local law), you agree not to:

• Misrepresent the Software as your own product, or remove or alter proprietary notices
• Redistribute modified builds under the "RemotePC by Breadworks" name, logo, or branding without our prior written permission
• Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Software without our prior written permission
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software beyond what applicable law allows

RemotePC's source code is closed and proprietary — see Section 11 for details. We reserve all rights not expressly granted here.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use RemotePC to:

• Access, monitor, or control any device or network without the explicit authorization of its owner or administrator
• Surveil, track, or spy on any person without the consent required by applicable law
• Violate any applicable law or regulation, including computer-misuse and data-protection laws
• Infringe anyone else's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
• Introduce malware or attempt to compromise the security of any system

We may suspend or terminate your license if we reasonably believe you've violated this Section.

6. Local-Only Design; No Built-In Cloud Relay

RemotePC by Breadworks is a local-network (LAN) tool only. It's designed and intended to be used exclusively between devices on the same local network:

• No built-in cloud relay
• No external servers operated by us to facilitate remote control
• No automatic exposure to the public internet

This describes how the Software is designed to work. It isn't a guarantee against bugs, misconfiguration, or third-party interference, and is subject to the disclaimers in Sections 12 and 13.

If you nonetheless attempt to expose the Windows Listener to the internet or another network — for example through port forwarding, a VPN, or tunneling tools — you're doing so entirely outside RemotePC's supported use case, and entirely at your own risk. You're solely responsible for that configuration and everything that follows from it, including unauthorized access.

7. Security

RemotePC takes a local-first approach to reduce attack surface, but it doesn't replace proper network security practices.

RemotePC includes security features intended to help prevent unauthorized access and reduce exposure. These live on the Windows Listener, since it's the side that accepts incoming connections from the Android App:

These features are tools to help reduce risk, not a guarantee — you're responsible for configuring and using them correctly.

We don't guarantee protection against every attack, vulnerability, or misconfiguration — including cases where security features such as IP whitelisting are bypassed, misconfigured, or fail. You're responsible for your firewall rules, router settings, and keeping your systems updated. Any connection made with RemotePC is only as secure as your Wi-Fi network and devices.

Despite these features, RemotePC — including any of its security features — is provided "as is." We don't warrant that it, or any security feature, will prevent unauthorized access in every case; see Sections 12 and 13.

8. Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for your use of the Service, including:

• Ensuring you have explicit authorization to access and control any device
• Maintaining reasonable security on your network and devices
• Protecting your access credentials, IP addresses, and connection details
• Complying with all applicable laws

9. Privacy & Data Collection

We try to collect as little as possible.

• Session data: the current version of the Windows Listener doesn't create or keep local logs of remote-control sessions.
• Update checks: RemotePC may contact GitHub's public API to check for new versions. Like any internet request, this sends your device's IP address to GitHub, which processes it under GitHub's own privacy statement — we don't receive or store it. Nothing else is transmitted for this purpose.

Full details live in our standalone Privacy Policy. If you're in the EEA/UK, you generally have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. If you're a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA, as amended — see Section 20 and our Privacy Policy.

10. Third-Party Services

The update-check feature interacts with GitHub, which has its own terms and privacy statement that we don't control.

If you downloaded the Android App from the Google Play Store, your use of that distribution channel is also subject to Google Play's terms.

11. Intellectual Property

RemotePC by Breadworks is closed-source software: its source code is proprietary and is not published, disclosed, or otherwise made available to the public.

RemotePC by Breadworks — including its source code, name, and logo — belongs to us (that is, to the developer personally, since "Breadworks" is a project name and not a separate legal entity) or our licensors, and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

Other than the limited license in Section 4, nothing here transfers any rights to you, and no license to view, access, or copy the source code is granted.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, REMOTEPC IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY — INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT REMOTEPC WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ALL BUGS WILL BE FIXED. THIS INCLUDES ANY SECURITY FEATURES (SUCH AS IP WHITELISTING, IP BANNING, ENCRYPTION, OR CLIENT CONNECTION LIMITS) — WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THEY WILL PREVENT UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, PROTECT TRANSMITTED DATA IN EVERY CASE, OR OPERATE WITHOUT FLAWS.

Nothing here excludes any statutory guarantee or right that can't lawfully be excluded — including digital-content conformity guarantees available to EU consumers under Directive (EU) 2019/770, or other non-waivable rights under the law of your country of residence.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS: WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR HARDWARE/SOFTWARE DAMAGE — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE REMOTEPC, INCLUDING UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS RESULTING FROM MISCONFIGURATION OR WEAK NETWORK SECURITY.

Nothing here excludes liability that can't be excluded under applicable law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or, where local law forbids excluding it, gross negligence or willful misconduct.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of RemotePC in breach of these Terms or applicable law
• Your violation of anyone else's rights
• Unauthorized access to a device or network carried out using RemotePC through your action or negligence

— except to the extent applicable consumer-protection law doesn't allow this.

15. Export Control and Sanctions Compliance

RemotePC may be subject to export-control and economic sanctions laws, including those of the United States and European Union. You confirm you're not located in, or a national or resident of, a country or region subject to comprehensive trade sanctions, and that you're not on any applicable restricted-party list. You agree not to export or use RemotePC in violation of these laws.

16. Term and Termination

These Terms apply until terminated. We may suspend or terminate your license for material breach. You can stop using RemotePC and uninstall it any time.

Sections that should reasonably survive termination — including 11 through 15 and 19 — do.

17. Software Updates and Changes to the Service

We may release updates — new features, bug fixes, security patches — from time to time. RemotePC may check GitHub's public API for new versions, as described in Section 9.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of RemotePC at any time, and will try to give reasonable notice of material changes where practical.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where practical, be flagged in the app or on the Website.

Continuing to use RemotePC after changes take effect means you accept them, to the extent the law allows; where the law requires your affirmative consent, we'll ask for it.

19. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece (the Hellenic Republic), the developer's country of residence, and the courts of Athens have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to the paragraph below.

If you're a consumer habitually resident in the EU, EEA, or UK, this clause doesn't take away the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence, and you keep the right to bring proceedings in your local courts under applicable law (including Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 and Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, or their UK equivalents).

Contact us first (Section 22) — we'd rather resolve a dispute directly than through a formal process.

21. General Provisions

• Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and that provision is read narrowly enough to be enforceable.
• Entire Agreement: these Terms plus our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about RemotePC, replacing any earlier agreements.
• No Waiver: not enforcing a provision once doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.
• Assignment: you can't assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
• Notices: we may notify you via the app, the Website, or the email you've provided.
