Terms of Service
These terms explain how you’re allowed to use the RemotePC Android app, Windows listener, and website.
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of RemotePC, including:
- The RemotePC Android app
- The RemotePC Windows listener
- The remotepc.tech website
By downloading, installing, or using RemotePC, you agree to these Terms.
2. License & usage
You are granted a non-exclusive, revocable license to use RemotePC for personal or internal use.
- You may install and run the software on your own devices.
- You may not misrepresent the software as your own product.
- You may not redistribute modified builds under the RemotePC name without permission.
3. Local-only design
RemotePC is designed to run on your local network (LAN):
- No built-in cloud relay
- No external servers for remote control
- No automatic exposure to the public internet
If you choose to expose the Windows listener to the internet (for example, via manual port forwarding, VPN, or tunneling tools), you accept full responsibility for the configuration and any associated risks.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use RemotePC only on devices and networks where you have permission.
- Choose a strong pairing PIN and keep it private.
- Maintain reasonable security on your Wi-Fi network and devices.
- Comply with applicable laws when using the software.
You may not use RemotePC for unauthorized access, spying, or any illegal activity.
5. Logs & data
The Windows listener writes a local log file with:
- Timestamps of actions
- Your LAN IP (e.g.,
192.168.x.x) for the connecting device - A short description of the action performed
This log is stored only on your PC, not uploaded to any server, and can be deleted by you at any time.
For details on privacy, data, and cookies, see the Privacy Policy.
6. Security
RemotePC takes a minimal, local-first approach to reduce the attack surface, but it does not replace proper network security practices.
- We do not guarantee protection against all attacks, malware, or misconfigurations.
- You are responsible for firewall rules, router settings, and system updates.
- If Windows Defender or other antivirus flags the listener, you may need to manually allow it if you trust the source.
- The connection between your devices is as strong as the security of your wifi network, including your router and any access points, therefore you should ensure these are secure, and contain trusted devices and users only.
7. No warranty
REMOTEPC IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We do not guarantee that:
- The software will be error-free or uninterrupted
- All bugs will be fixed
- The software will meet every specific use case or requirement
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers of RemotePC are not liable for:
- Any loss of data or damage to hardware or software
- Unauthorized access resulting from weak PINs, poor network security, or misconfiguration
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind
You use RemotePC at your own risk.
9. Updates & changes
RemotePC may periodically query GitHub’s public API to determine whether a new version of the software is available. This feature does not transmit personal data and can be disabled through the in-app or Windows settings menu. By leaving automatic update checks enabled, you consent to these requests being made from your device to GitHub.
The latest version of these Terms will always be available on this page. Continued use of RemotePC after changes are published means you accept the updated Terms.
